TomTom & Nike Partner For New Stopwatch

June 16th, 2012 by Cale Loken

The new Nike+ SportWatch GPS is the newest gadget for runners. GPS meets indoor tracking capabilities in a watch you can take on the road, trail, treadmill or any other terrain. Outdoors, GPS technology pinpoints your location to accurately record your time, pace and distance. Indoors, the included Nike+ Sensor uses an accelerometer to give you the same data. Used together, GPS and the Sensor seamlessly calibrate to your pace so you get accurate stats wherever you run, even if the GPS signal gets interrupted. Tap the screen to mark laps and activate the backlight during your run, and personalize the data that you want to see during your run. For direct connect, USB contacts are built into the watch strap—just plug the watch directly into a USB port on your computer to upload run data and recharge the battery.

Before your run the Nike+ SportWatch GPS keeps track of your location, pace, distance, laps, and calories burned. With the Polar Wearlink+, it also tracks your heart rate. It stores all your run history and keeps tabs on your personal records, giving you encouragement along the way. It doesn’t just tell time. During your run it keeps you motivated and on track with unique features like automatic run-reminders. It’s like having your own personal running coach, right on your wrist. After your run you can set goals, track your progress, view your splits, and connect with other runners. Check out your mapped runs, and see how elevation affects your pace. Find the best places to run and compete on a Nike+ Top Route.

If you want to track your runs accurately, you should get one of these. You can buy one at the Nike Store, they retail for $169.00.
